Job summary

The Building People, LLC seeks an experienced Space and Occupancy Planner to support a government client in Alexandria, VA. This on-site role partners with the Space Management Team to restack buildings for the return-to-office directive and to maintain TRIRGA data.

The candidate will interpret, update and maintain space information and CAD-related data for occupancy planning. Requirements include 5–8 years in commercial space planning, proficiency with AutoCAD and TRIRIGA/IWMS, and strong

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in commercial space planning and facilities planning/management.
• Advanced ability to analyze space requirements and achieve 100% occupancy.
• Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in space utilization analysis and facilities inventory.
• Strong communication and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Gather planning data and define optimal adjacencies and move/relocation sequencing as directed.
• Analyze CAD drawings and space plans to support client needs.
• Maintain knowledge of agency space needs and workplace culture.
• Propose space plans and recommendations for existing and new spaces.
• Conduct space surveys to validate occupancy and use.
• Integrate client standards with technology and infrastructure.
• Develop relocation scenarios addressing pros/cons of options.
• Create blocking and stacking diagrams and assign space per standards.
• Track project tasks and schedules to meet deadlines.
• Provide monthly status reports on tasks and projects.
• Be accountable from start to finish; perform related duties as assigned.
