Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a Space Planner and Occupancy Planner to design, optimize, and manage interior layouts for multiple campuses using CAD or BIM tools. You will analyze space utilization, forecast headcount, and coordinate furniture and equipment placement to ensure maximum functionality, compliance, and efficiency.

The role collaborates with facilities management, IWMS teams, and workplace stakeholders to align planning efforts across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture.
• 2–5 years of experience in design, corporate space and occupancy planning.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit/BIM preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office (MS Project, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience with IWMS/CAFM platforms (e.g., Nuvolo, WSD, Archibus, Centerstone).
• Ability to generate and interpret complex occupancy reports using advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with interior space layouts, including floor plans and test fits, utilizing CAD or BIM tools.
• Identify and recommend space optimization opportunities, coordinating with appropriate teams to support business needs and decision-making.
• Analyze space utilization metrics, headcount forecasts, and seating assignments to develop occupancy plans.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to support business growth, collaboration, and workplace performance.
• Monitor and report on occupancy trends, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Enter new and maintain accurate space, occupancy, and headcount data within IWMS systems.
• Maintain data quality and oversight practices to promote accuracy, consistency, and adherence to organizational standards.
• Update space records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure documentation aligns with established workflows.
• Proactively identify, assess, and elevate space conflicts and policy expectations, to ensure timely resolution and compliance with workplace standards.
• Support planning activities across multiple locations.
• Assist with audits, site assessments, and space validation efforts.
• Partner with facilities management, IWMS/database teams, and workplace stakeholders to align planning efforts.
• Produce presentations for internal stakeholder meetings for review and feedback.
• Partner with other departments on move and relocation sequencing and execution.
