Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL seeks an Electronics Design Engineer to join the COMSEC team within Core Systems and Components. You will design, develop, and verify secure communications hardware for spaceflight programs and collaborate with Cybersecurity, Software, and FPGA teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical hardware design.
• Understanding of common circuit analyses (Worst Case, Derating, Power, Timing).
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB design tools.
• Experience designing high speed digital systems.
• Strong understanding of space radiation environment effects on electronics.
• Experience with FPGA-based designs and interfacing with software teams.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and verification of electrical hardware for secure communications (COMSEC) systems.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Software, and FPGA teams throughout hardware lifecycle.
• Perform hands-on fabrication, assembly, and testing of engineering hardware.
• Design for space environment with radiation hardening to meet mission requirements.
• Define and execute hardware verification and validation plans.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware issues across integrated systems and support tests.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Ensure designs meet standards, requirements, and security protocols.
• Participate in design reviews and drive continuous improvement.
