Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced Embedded Software Developer to join the COMSEC team within Core Systems and Components. You will design, implement, and test embedded software for secure communications, working closely with Electrical Circuit and FPGA Designers to ensure robust hardware/software integration.

You will drive the full software lifecycle, implement cryptographic capabilities, and contribute to Zero Trust security in embedded platforms, advancing spaceflight technology and safety.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with RTOS.
• Strong understanding of hardware/software interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe).
• Experience with FPGA interfaces and register-level hardware integration.
• Strong debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for COMSEC systems.
• Collaborate with Electrical Circuit and FPGA Designers for hardware/software integration.
• Drive software lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Develop low-level drivers/firmware for embedded platforms.
• Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and verification.
• Contribute to software architecture, reviews, and documentation.
• Develop and execute software verification plans (unit/integration).
• Implement secure communications and cryptographic capabilities per standards.
• Design and integrate device authentication and identity management on embedded platforms.
• Support Zero Trust security within embedded architectures.
