Job summary

The Fountain Group in El Segundo, CA is seeking a senior electronic systems engineer to design and develop space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs.

You will work with domestic and international customers on the latest satellite systems, design RF and digital satellite links, and verify multi-rate DSP architectures for ASIC/FPGA implementations. Strong experience in DSP and verification is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience.
• 6+ years of experience with signal processing or image processing.
• 10+ years of experience with electronic systems engineering.
• Experience developing algorithms for hardware implementation on ASICs or FPGAs preferred.
• Digital Signal Processing based classes, project or work experience preferred.
• Simulink experience in work or school preferred.
• Verification planning and principles, while applying their theoretical knowledge in resolving real world problems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop space-based communication systems for programs.
• Work with domestic and international customers on satellite systems.
• Develop RF and digital satellite communication systems.
• Develop and verify multi-rate fixed point DSP architectures.
• Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces for digital payloads.
• Develop performance and link budgets.
• Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models.
• Execute payload system trade studies to improve performance cost and/or schedule.
• Develop prototype demonstrations on communication subsystem testbeds.
• Plan unit-level integration and performance simulations.
• Support ASIC and FPGA level system design and verification.
• Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs.
