Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Senior Contracts Specialist to negotiate complex, first‑of‑kind agreements across government and commercial programs. You will own the full lifecycle from pre‑award strategy to post‑award execution, ensuring FAR/DFARS compliance and export controls, while coordinating with cross‑functional teams.

This role requires 4–6 years of contract management, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in law, business, finance or related field.
• 4–6 years contract management with government experience.
• Experience with Firm Fixed Price and OTA contracts.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS/NFS compliance.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS clearance.
• 100% onsite work in El Segundo, CA.

Responsibilities

• Represent Varda to customers as contracting officer for govt and commercial.
• Lead or support negotiations, maintaining positive relationships.
• Remove blockers to signature while protecting company interests.
• Coordinate contract support across teams and ensure compliance.
• Manage contract closeout, deliveries, payments, and issues.
• Ensure compliance with government contracts and export rules.
• Create and maintain contract and business files.
• Advise management on rights and obligations under contracts.
• Review and provide recommendations on various contracts.
• Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs and customer agreements.
