Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for phased array antennas and related subsystems. You will work across development phases from concept to space flight, performing trades, analyses, and detailing.

Strong CAD/FEA skills and aerospace material experience are essential. The role requires presenting reviews to customers and executives and contributing to proposal activities, with emphasis on reliability, packaging, and thermal management in space

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years in space antenna and payload mechanical engineering (electronics packaging, thermal, shock, vibration, etc.).
• Experience with CAD/FEA tools and aerospace materials, including sandwich panels and carbon composites.
• Familiarity with launch and LEO environment and design for test, manufacturability, assembly, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design of Cesium phased array antennas, subsystems, and interfaces through all development phases.
• Perform architecture trades, block diagrams, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and qualification.
• Present design reviews to customers and executives; contribute to proposals.
