Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of phased array antennas, subsystems, and interfaces through all development phases. You will drive requirements, architecture trades, analyses, and support manufacturing, testing, qualification, and in-orbit operations.

The role requires strong communication skills for design reviews with customers and the executive team, plus participation in proposal efforts and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years in space antenna and payload mechanical engineering including electronics packaging, thermal, shock, vibration, stress dynamics, and cost.
• Experience with architectural trade studies including parametric and cost/physical analysis.
• Experience with professional mechanical and FEA CAD tools (Ansys Mechanical, SolidWorks Simulation, Thermal Desktop).
• Experience with CNC manufacturing and GD&T; familiarity with space-grade materials and deployable mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Designs mechanical aspects of Cesium phased array antennas, subsystems, and interfaces through all development stages.
• Performs architecture trades, requirements definition, and block diagrams; conducts analyses and supports manufacturing, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support.
• Presents engineering design review materials to customers and executive team; contributes to proposal writing.
