Job summary

Checkout.com is seeking a Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering (Sales) to act as a senior technical and commercial partner for our most strategic US accounts. This role focuses on top-tier opportunities, guiding solution strategy for enterprise merchants and aligning across Sales, Product, and Engineering to ensure successful go-lives.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Solutions Engineering or related leadership roles.
• Experience with large enterprise or strategic accounts in payments/fintech/e-commerce.
• Deep understanding of payments architecture and API-based integrations.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior Solutions Engineering partner for top 50 accounts, strategic pursuits, and opportunities with significant commercial, technical, or reputational importance.
• Engage with C-level, executive, product, engineering, architecture, security, and payments stakeholders to shape consensus around complex solutions.
• Define the technical strategy for enterprise opportunities, including discovery, solution architecture, integration approach, proof-of-concept design, technical validation, and go-live readiness.
• Translate merchant requirements into scalable Checkout.com solutions, articulating architecture choices, trade-offs, and risks.
• Provide thought leadership on payment performance, authorization and settlement flows, fraud and risk, tokenization, 3DS, and other capabilities.
• Lead or advise on strategic RFPs, RFIs, security and architecture reviews, and high-stakes negotiations.
• Orchestrate cross-functional alignment across Sales, Account Management, Product, Engineering, and other partners to deliver outcomes.
• Mentor and raise the technical standard of Solutions Engineering through coaching and deal reviews.
