Job summary

Opto-Knowledge Systems, Inc. (OKSI) seeks a Senior Solutions Engineer to lead the technical side of major business pursuits. You will turn customer requirements and CONOPS into buildable, testable, and deliverable solutions while guiding the Solutions Engineering team.

In this remote role, you will engage with Army, Navy, Air Force, and SOCOM customers, plan live demonstrations, and produce technically solid proposals and test plans. Prior defense exposure and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical or engineering background with defense customer-facing work.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Optical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, or Physics.
• Strong understanding of EO/IR sensors, precision weapons, and autonomous platforms.
• Knowledge of DoD requirements, acquisition processes, and government contracting.
• Ability to translate warfighter needs into technical requirements for engineers and buyers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of technical proposals and white papers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical voice for the business development team on major pursuits.
• Translate mission needs and CONOPS into buildable solutions with cost and schedule implications.
• Plan and deliver demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical briefings.
• Lead technical volumes of proposals and test plans; ensure evaluators can score effectively.
• Mentor the Solutions Engineer team and maintain pursuit records in CRM.
• Track market and competitors to position OKSI strategically.
