Job summary

EOS Defense Systems USA, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) Engineer to support design, integration, testing, and sustainment of advanced EO/IR sensor systems for defense applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace, Systems, Mechanical, or related field.
• Three years of engineering experience.
• Basic understanding of optics, infrared systems, sensors, imaging systems or related tech.
• Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, testing methodologies, and data analysis techniques.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, integration, and testing of EO/IR systems and subsystems.
• Assist in laboratory and field testing of optical, infrared, imaging, and sensor tech.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to evaluate performance and improvements.
• Participate in environmental, qualification, verification, and validation testing activities.
• Assist with sensor performance modeling, simulation, and analysis.
• Support troubleshooting and root cause investigations for anomalies.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, procedures, and documentation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, systems, manufacturing, QC teams.
• Support customer demonstrations, design reviews as required.
• Ensure activities comply with military standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain configuration management and documentation control throughout development.
• Travel occasionally to customer sites, test facilities, and field locations.
