Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. seeks a Customer Productivity Consultant to accelerate solution sales and support MSC’s sales teams with client-ready proposals and discovery findings. Based in Hartford, CT, you’ll engage with executives and field teams to tailor inventory and supply chain solutions.

You will analyze needs, develop business cases, and deliver training and materials to help win large opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with customers and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; MBA preferred.
• 5-8 years experience in manufacturing, materials management, supply chain or industrial distribution.
• 3 years consulting or sales in industrial distribution, supply chain or inventory management.
• Coaching and/or training experience required.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; mobile technologies.
• Lean / 6Sigma experience preferred.
• Management experience preferred.
• Familiarity with AS400 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Increase solution sales within region in collaboration with sales leadership.
• Coach sales teams to identify and qualify opportunities using MRO Go and Challenger methodology.
• Present MSC solutions to executive contacts, virtually or in person.
• Apply Challenger selling insights to improve customer performance.
• Design MSC solution proposals aligned with customer needs and profitability.
• Train and mentor teams on MSC capabilities and processes.
• Monitor solution performance and adapt strategies as needed.
