Paychex is seeking an experienced technical architect to lead a portfolio of products, guiding agile teams through design and implementation. You will shape enterprise architecture, SOA adoption, and future-state roadmaps while collaborating with executives and product managers.

The role emphasizes hands-on architecture, mentoring, and staying ahead of industry trends to deliver scalable, secure solutions supporting Paychex clients nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software development or related field required.
• 10+ years designing and implementing orchestration/integration with middleware technologies.
• Experience with loosely coupled or service-oriented architectures; enterprise-scale systems.
• 10+ years building scalable web/mobile enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and architectural leadership for a portfolio of products and agile teams.
• Define software architectural approach and high-level design for multiple teams.
• Develop future state architectures, roadmaps, standards, and SOA practices.
• Collaborate with leadership to align portfolio goals with strategic objectives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for architectural standards.
• Evaluate external services to optimize dependencies and reduce redundancy.
• Mentor junior architects and tech leads to ensure design consistency.
• Stay current with industry trends to drive innovation and productivity.
