Job summary

Databricks Inc. is seeking a Solutions Architect to drive adoption of the Databricks Unified Analytics Platform in customer environments. You will work with customers, product, and post-sales teams to design architectures, guide implementations, and showcase value through reference architectures and demos.

You will lead technical discussions on distributed data systems, mentor teams, and travel to customer sites as needed across the region.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, Java, SQL or R.
• Built solutions on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience with data engineering tech such as Spark, Hadoop and Kafka.
• Strong data warehousing knowledge (SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS).
• Degree in a quantitative discipline is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can help solve their business problems.
• Provide technical leadership for customers evaluating and adopting Databricks.
• Consult on big data architectures and proof-of-concept projects across data science and ML initiatives.
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demo apps for customers.
• Promote Databricks open-source projects across developer communities through meets, conferences, and webinars.
• Travel to customers in your region.
