EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Solution Architect to shape a greenfield Commercial Lines insurance platform with focus on property, underwriting, rating, policy administration, carrier management, and external integrations.

You will define the target-state architecture and deliver governance artifacts for engineering teams to implement. This hands-on role collaborates with Product, Underwriting, Actuarial, Engineering and Data Engineering to produce ADRs, API contracts, and data models, while

Qualifications

• 8+ years solution/enterprise architecture with a greenfield microservices platform end-to-end.
• P&C insurance domain experience, Commercial Lines preferred.
• Event-driven architecture in production using Kafka or equivalent.
• API design at contract level with OpenAPI 3.1 and versioning.
• Data architecture for regulated financial transactions and immutable ledgers.
• Experience with reinsurance/quota share or AMS/clearinghouse platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define service decomposition, bounded contexts, and data ownership per service.
• Design the event-driven backbone, including domain event models and schemas.
• Author OpenAPI 3.1 specifications for inter-service APIs.
• Design the insurance data model with account/policy/coverage hierarchies.
• Enforce separation between Rating and Rules services.
• Produce architecture artifacts like ADRs, API contracts, and data models.
