Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a Principal Solution Engineer to bridge Sales Engineering, Project Engineering, and Product Engineering. You will own intake, assessment, and resolution of customer-driven technical requests and lead changes through the ECM process, ensuring cross-domain impact is understood and documented.

This role requires deep expertise across electrical, mechanical, and software EMS domains, plus strong communication to align stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in applications or systems engineering in energy storage or industrial electrical equipment.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Experience spanning electrical, mechanical, and software EMS systems.
• Proven ability to lead ECM processes from intake to closure.
• Strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills.
• On-site in Tysons, Virginia or Houston, Texas a minimum of three days per week (hybrid).

Responsibilities

• Sales Interface: be the primary technical contact between Sales Engineering and Engineering.
• Assessment: own the assessment workflow and determine disposition for each request.
• Resolution Ownership: coordinate with Sales and Project Engineering to resolve non-ECM requests.
• Change Impact Definition: define scope and impact of changes across subsystems.
• ECM Leadership: drive approved changes through ECM to closure.
• Product Alignment: collaborate with Product to reflect requests in roadmap and configuration decisions.
