Job summary

Neeljym Search Group is representing an established St. Louis manufacturer seeking a SolidWorks Designer to transform concepts and sketches into production-ready designs.

You will work directly with customers and collaborate with the shop floor to ensure designs are manufacturable and aligned with fabrication capabilities. The role emphasizes ownership from initial discussions through production, with opportunities to impact product development and lead cross-functional efforts as the company

Qualifications

• Strong SolidWorks experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to interpret customer requirements, including incomplete or imperfect design information.
• Confidence communicating directly with customers and shop-floor personnel.
• Sound judgment regarding manufacturability, material selection, and production considerations.
• Familiarity with NEMA- or UL-related products is a plus, not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Turn concepts, sketches, and sometimes incomplete specifications into production-ready designs.
• Collaborate closely with the manufacturing team to ensure designs can be efficiently fabricated.
• Engage with customers to understand requirements and provide feasible design solutions.
• Own the design process from initial discussions through finished production.
