Job summary

SCS Engineers in Florida is seeking a Design Engineer and/or Project Manager to perform solid waste projects. The hybrid role can be based in West Palm Beach or Coconut Creek.

You will prepare calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications, and serve as Engineer of Record on projects for public and private clients. Responsibilities include design, client communications, staff coordination, and business development, with focus on landfill gas, landfills, composting and related

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant solid waste consulting experience incl. landfill gas, air compliance, and permitting.
• Florida P.E. registration or ability to reciprocity within 6 months.
• MS Office proficiency; AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of engineering and science to solid waste assignments and related fields.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
• Work independently, coordinate work, and represent SCS at meetings and conferences.
• Field work including surveys, data gathering, liner inspections, etc.
• Office tasks: CAD drafting, calculations, reports, site plans, and permit applications.
• Support business development: proposals, client meetings, industry conferences.
