Job summary

Geronimo Power is seeking a Lead Solar Technician to provide on-site leadership for the safe, reliable operation of the 99 MW Grant Solar facility near Canistota, SD. This role directs day-to-day site operations and maintenance, supports the development of site technicians, and ensures work is performed in accordance with prudent utility practices and company standards.

The Lead reports to the Area Manager, Field Operations and requires a four-year degree or technical training, plus three years

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or technical certificate or equivalent experience.
• At least three years in solar or power generation operations and maintenance.
• Experience providing day-to-day technical leadership and setting work priorities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day site operations and direct personnel to maximize plant availability and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with EHS programs including analyses, audits, and training.
• Coordinate with Area Manager and stakeholders to meet operational requirements.
• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance, outages, troubleshooting, and warranty activities.
• Plan daily work and execute maintenance schedules including outages.
• Operate and maintain plant electrical and mechanical equipment including high-voltage systems.
