Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking an experienced Project Manager for its expanding commercial solar division in Milford, CT. You will oversee large-scale solar projects from contract execution through final completion, coordinating schedule, budget, procurement, utilities, and client communications.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in commercial construction or renewable energy projects, strong NEC knowledge, and proven leadership in fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders,

Qualifications

• 4+ years of project management experience in commercial construction, electrical construction, or utility-scale solar.
• Strong budgeting and cost control experience.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders (utilities, municipalities, engineers, subcontractors).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial and municipal solar projects (rooftop, ground mount, carport, and portfolio-based) across CT.
• Lead project kickoff meetings and establish execution plans.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and critical paths.
• Manage procurement of major equipment (modules, inverters, switchgear, transformers, BOS materials).
• Coordinate with utilities for interconnection, witness testing, and approvals.
• Track budgets and ensure margin targets are met.
• Review subcontracts and vendor agreements.
• Submit and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering and field teams to ensure design intent is executed correctly.
• Oversee permitting and inspection processes.
• Manage project billing milestones and O&M transition at completion.
• Maintain organized project documentation and reporting.
• Identify and mitigate risks early in the lifecycle.
