Job summary

Corning is seeking a Senior Manager, Solar Procurement - Capital to lead a global sourcing team responsible for capital projects. You will drive cost reduction, supplier negotiations, and disciplined procurement practices across Expansion of Business and Maintenance of Business initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or supply chain with at least 10 years in capital sourcing and contract administration, plus deep knowledge of project procurement management

Qualifications

• :Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or supply chain.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in capital sourcing and contract administration.
• Knowledge of project procurement management, strategic sourcing, contract language, business law, risk management, and supplier negotiation.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment contracts, project estimating, scope development, and design stage gate processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Strategic Sourcing Managers and Capital Buyers.
• Oversee large industrial capital projects valued above $10 million, with cost and schedule accountability.
• Develop and execute project-specific sourcing strategies; lead bids and tenders.
• Ensure contract terms are fulfilled and manage supplier performance reviews.
• Collaborate with Capital Project Managers, Engineering, Legal, and Sourcing.
• Provide guidance on project management practices for effective delivery.
• Develop risk management plans and mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate clear communication across teams, suppliers, and projects.
