Medtronic is seeking a Sr. Software Systems Engineer to join the Affera Mapping and Ablation System team, supporting MBSE-driven design of software-enabled capital systems for cardiac electrophysiology.

You will own features, participate in cross-functional engineering, and drive advanced model-based systems engineering efforts. The role emphasizes SysML (v1/v2), requirements traceability, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience required
• Master's with 2+ years relevant experience preferred
• PhD with 0 years relevant experience acceptable

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system and software architecture models using SysML (v1/v2).
• Apply MBSE to connect system intent to software services, APIs, schemas, modules, and firmware.
• Define interface contracts and allocations between system functions, software, and hardware components.
• Support V-model traceability across requirements, design, implementation, and verification
• Author and review software system requirements with full bidirectional traceability
• Perform risk analysis activities including FMEA and interface risk identification
• Contribute to MBSE tooling improvements and trace automation
• Apply standards and processes across the system development life cycle
