Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Leader to drive architecture, design, development, testing and sustaining activities for complex medical device software. You will plan releases, manage cross-site efforts, and ensure compliance with FDA/IEC-62304 regulations while guiding agile and cross-functional teams across multiple locations.

Responsibilities include forecasting, budgeting, roadmap input, and frequent status updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, OR an Advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of medical product software development, IEC-62304, and FDA guidance, or experience in other highly regulated environments.
• Program Management experience in a technical discipline or relevant software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering teams responsible for architecture, design, development, testing, and sustaining activities for complex medical device software.
• Plan and execute release milestones, risk management, defect resolution, and continuous improvement with cross-functional teams.
• Define, plan, organize, and coordinate software development deliverables across multiple sites per FDA and regulatory requirements.
• Lead forecasting, effort estimation, resource planning, technical planning, execution, and release activities.
• Manage predictable project schedules and budgets.
• Drive continuous improvement by implementing industry-standard software engineering processes.
• Apply Agile practices to improve execution, collaboration, and delivery across the organization.
• Contribute to product strategy through project planning, roadmap input, and tradeoff analysis.
• Provide regular status updates for management and cross-functional review.
• Ability to travel as needed.
