Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Software Quality Engineer II to lead analysis of software requirements, design and implement complex test plans, and oversee both manual and automated testing across projects. You will document defects, drive configuration control, and support SDLC activities to uphold high quality standards.

The role requires collaboration with developers, product managers, and stakeholders, plus mentoring of junior teammates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience as software quality engineer or in a related field.
• Experience with software development lifecycle models (waterfall, scrum, etc.).
• Experience reviewing plan requirements and participating in audits.
• Experience with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.
• Experience with programming languages.
• Experience with testing techniques, tools, and environments.
• Experience with bug tracking and requirements tracking tools.
• Basic networking knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and review of software requirements for clarity and testability.
• Develop, document, and maintain complex test cases and test plans.
• Execute and oversee manual and automated tests and track results.
• Identify, document, and track defects with timely resolutions.
• Lead software configuration control efforts and documentation.
• Support SDLC processes to maintain quality standards.
• Create and maintain test documentation and reports.
• Master QA tools for test management and automation.
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate with developers and product managers.
