Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer to lead requirements analysis, develop and execute advanced test plans, and oversee both manual and automated testing for complex, large-scale software systems. You will mentor teams, manage defects, and drive quality improvements across the SDLC.

The role requires strong collaboration with developers, product managers, and stakeholders, plus experience with testing tools, configuration management, and various development

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 8+ years of software quality engineering experience.
• Direct experience with SDLC models (waterfall, scrum).
• Experience reviewing requirements and participating in compliance assessments.
• Collaborative work with developers, PMs and leads.
• Experience with testing techniques, tools, and environments.
• Familiarity with bug/requirements tracking tools.
• Able to assist with tailored project plans and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and review of software requirements for clarity and testability.
• Design, document, and maintain advanced test cases and plans.
• Execute and oversee manual and automated tests for large-scale projects.
• Identify and track complex defects and ensure timely resolution.
• Lead configuration management and proper documentation of changes.
• Provide senior-level support across SDLC processes.
• Mentor junior to senior QA team members in QA methodologies.
• Demonstrate mastery of QA tools for test management and automation.
• Collaborate with software developers, product managers and stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
