Job summary

The Department of Social Services ITS is seeking a Computer Specialist (Software) II to function as Senior Project Leader, overseeing complex system, application, and database tasks for a large print mailing system.

Responsibilities include designing and maintaining forms and mappings, analyzing user requirements, and guiding staff through technical challenges, with a focus on timely Production turnover and documentation.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree with 24 CS credits and 2 years software experience, including 1 year in a project leader role.
• Or a 4-year high school diploma and 6 years software experience, including 1 year as project leader.
• A qualifying combination of education and experience as described; credits may substitute for experience per policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex system, application, database design, development, and maintenance tasks for the large and complex print mailing system.
• Monitor and execute scheduled jobs; coordinate with Production Control to resolve issues.
• Design, create, modify, and maintain form design and mapping.
• Analyze user functionality and participate in design for complex automation projects; advise on alternatives.
• Provide technical assistance and mentor staff; produce comprehensive documentation for turnover to Production.
• Assist in planning and scheduling development, implementation, and maintenance of complex systems.
