Job summary

NYC Department of Social Services seeks a Computer Associate (Software) Level III to function as a System Specialist. Under supervision, you will analyze and support computerized systems, gather business requirements, and produce technical documentation for databases and case-tracking apps.

You will collaborate with IT teams and end-users to ensure systems operate effectively, generate ad hoc reports, and meet project deadlines. Residency not required.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with relevant work experience.
  • Experience with database systems, programming, and systems development lifecycle.
  • Ability to gather and refine business requirements for system enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate existing computerized systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Perform data analysis to support decision-making and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Provide production support ensuring critical systems run smoothly.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements for enhancements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes.
  • Work with IT teams, business units and end-users to ensure effective system functioning.
  • Generate ad hoc reports and analyses as needed.
