Job summary

The Department of Social Services (DSS) ITS unit seeks a Computer Associate Technical Support II – Job Coordinator to oversee complex job processing across MIS UNISYS, IBM, and related systems. You will ensure timely and accurate execution of welfare, Medicaid, and benefit issuance runs while coordinating cross-team activities.

Responsibilities include monitoring schedules, verifying outputs, maintaining records, and working with Technical Services and Production Services to resolve issues.

• Coordinate processing of Welfare Management System (WMS) and Child Support Management System (CSMS) runs on MIS UNISYS computers and 161 systems with over 900 automated procedures (jobs).
• Provide coordination to UNISYS Production Control to ensure benefit issuance programs run on schedule and produce correct benefits and reports.
• Coordinate production processing for Medicaid benefits to ensure files from UNISYS and IBM systems are created correctly and on schedule and processed to Albany Medicaid systems for issuance of Medicaid cards and payment of Medicaid bills.
• Monitor performance to ensure run setup and verification are followed and production output on IBM, Prime, Datapoint and Unix PCs meets high quality standards.
• Perform reasonableness tests and JES2 log reviews prior to printing negotiable documents to ensure correct runs with proper dollar values and dates.
• Maintain Production Control records and logs current, complete and accurate.
• Prepare and resolve problem reports; ensure issues are researched and resolved and prevent recurrence.
• Contact Technical Services, Production Services, System Development and MIS staff day or night to resolve problems.
• Review automated daily schedules for the IBM system and adjust schedules to meet deadlines, coordinating UNISYS and IBM schedules.
