Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems seeks a Staff Software Lead for the SLCM-N Tactical Supplier Management Team. The role is located in Huntsville, AL and requires leading software design, integration, and testing of safety-critical systems for missile and launch applications.

Responsibilities include guiding development teams, developing in C/C++, and enabling HWIL integration with MATLAB/Simulink. DoD Secret clearance and Agile experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or higher degrees with adjusted years.
• U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance (current and within scope).
• 5+ years of hands on C++ development for embedded, real time, or mission critical systems.
• Experience integrating software with hardware in a lab or HWIL environment.
• Practical experience with MATLAB and Simulink for modeling and verification.

Responsibilities

• Guide software teams in applying best practices to deliver software meeting requirements.
• Lead design and integration of complex safety‑critical command systems.
• Develop C/C++ for embedded/mission applications on RTOS.
• Build and maintain automated tests; debug software/hardware issues.
• Lead HWIL lab integration and scripted test execution.
