Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a Lead Software Engineer for IMA Configuration Tools to provide technical leadership and hands-on development, testing, and maintenance of critical software for aerospace programs.

You will focus on C# and Python, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions that meet program requirements. Remote-friendly with onsite orientation and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with C# and/or Python in a team setting.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, debugging, testing, and review of software applications in C# and Python for IMA Configuration Tools.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with systems engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into software solutions.
• Ensure development aligns with product specs, requirements, and program objectives.
• Work with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive interoperability and reuse.
• Identify risks and propose mitigations and innovative solutions.
• Support planning, task definition, and execution to meet schedules.
