Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the IMA Configuration Tools. You will provide technical leadership and hands-on software development in C# and Python, guiding a team across design, testing, and deployment to support key aerospace programs.

The role is preferably hybrid/onsite in Grand Rapids, MI, with remote consideration. A Bachelor’s in a technical field and 6+ years of software experience are required, along with visa sponsorship limitations and strong cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• At least 6 years of software development experience.
• Proven experience with C# and/or Python in software projects.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering environment.
• GE Aerospace will not sponsor employment visas for this opening.
• This role is ideally hybrid/onsite in Grand Rapids, MI; remote candidates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, debugging, testing, and review of software in C# and Python for IMA Configuration Tools.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to translate user needs into software solutions.
• Ensure development activities align with product specs and program objectives.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, partners, and vendors for interoperability.
• Identify risks, propose mitigations, and drive innovative solutions.
• Support project leadership with planning and execution to meet schedules.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software processes and tools.
