Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a Lead Software Engineer for IMA Configuration Tools to provide technical leadership and hands-on development across design, testing, and maintenance of software solutions. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of software development experience.
• Experience designing, developing, debugging, and testing software in C# and/or Python.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering environment.

• This role is ideally hybrid/onsite in Grand Rapids, MI; however, remote candidates will also be considered.
• In-person attendance on Day 1 if working remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, debugging, testing, and review of software applications written primarily in C# and Python for IMA Configuration Tools.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to junior software engineers.
• Partner with systems engineers and stakeholders to translate user needs into software solutions.
• Ensure activities align with product specs, requirements, and program objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and vendors to drive interoperability and reuse.
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Support project leadership with task planning and execution to meet schedules.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software processes and tools.
