Cubic Transportation Systems in San Diego, CA seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to oversee device software development across multiple projects, ensuring milestones, budgets, and quality standards are met. You will lead Software Development Supervisors and Managers with limited supervision and drive technical excellence across the team.

The role requires extensive SDLC experience, strong leadership, and a proven ability to mentor staff while coordinating with cross-functional groups.

Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of experience in a Software Engineering role with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering, computer science or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven track record of leading teams and projects to meet milestones, objectives, and cost controls.
• Desirable to have experience with Cubic products or transportation technology.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Software Development Supervisors/Managers to align teams with project milestones and objectives.
• Assign projects and prepare personnel for higher levels of responsibility in the department.
• Review and ensure resource plans are appropriate across multiple projects.
• Manage day-to-day roles, responsibilities and team management.
• Coach and mentor team members; oversee recruitment, performance reviews, and time-off approvals.
• Ensure designs, development, and testing meet quality standards and Cubic procedures.
