Waystar is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer Manager to lead a high-performing team of software engineers and QA professionals. You will own delivery, quality, and the growth of your team while partnering with product and technology leadership to build award-winning solutions for clients.

The role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic planning, mentoring engineers, and driving architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with modern web apps and distributed systems.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams.
• Deep experience with cloud-native architectures and scalable services.
• Experience with backend and API-driven systems (REST, GraphQL, event-driven).
• Experience with frontend (TypeScript) frameworks.
• Experience with Java/Spring, Postgres, Kafka/Redis.
• AWS experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD and automated testing.
• BS in CS/Engineering or equivalent.

• Lead day-to-day execution and operations of an engineering team.

• Partner with Product and Design to define priorities and roadmaps.
