Job summary

Applied Resource Group is partnering with a technology-driven organization to hire a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead a customer-facing digital platform and the engineering team responsible for it. This hands-on leadership role will own platform health, guide the Angular/Node.js front end and Java/Spring Boot backend, and drive modernization while fostering an AI-enabled engineering culture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of engineering management or comparable leadership experience.
• Experience leading teams responsible for production, customer-facing digital applications.
• Demonstrated ability to improve an established platform and modernize initiatives.
• Experience owning technology where reliability, usability, and performance impact customer experience and business results.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for a business-critical customer-facing application.
• Establish a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Develop engineers through coaching, performance management, and career planning.
• Guide architecture decisions and ensure quality through reviews.
• Own stability, quality, performance, and evolution of the full-stack platform.
• Provide technical leadership across Angular/Node.js front end and Java/Spring Boot backend.
• Balance ongoing platform investment with next-generation architecture planning.
• Communicate strategy, progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.
• Improve release discipline, testing, CI/CD, observability, and production support.
• Define and track platform-health metrics for visibility.
