Job summary

SoftWriters seeks a Manager of Software Engineering to lead multiple engineering teams, modernize our product portfolio, and drive an AI-enabled SDLC. You will recruit and mentor engineers, guide Scrum processes, and collaborate with product leaders to deliver high-value software for LTC pharmacies.

Hybrid work model in Pittsburgh with core days Tue–Thu. Relocation not provided; HIPAA considerations and patient data security are valued.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Information Science, MIS, or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people leadership experience.
• Experience building and leading a diverse engineering team.
• Strong knowledge of SOLID, IOC/DI, ORM, and unit testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple engineering projects and the teams delivering them.
• Hire and scale engineering teams; mentor in delivering tested code.
• Collaborate across departments to align projects with strategy.
• Advise on design requirements, best practices, and AI-enabled development.
• Support Scrum practices and ensure value delivery each sprint.
• Guide team through agent-first SDLC and adoption of AI tooling.
