Jobtailor is seeking an IT leader to build and guide the team responsible for the business software stack. You will partner with operations, engineering, and commercial leaders to translate business problems into scalable software solutions, while setting standards for design, delivery, and support.

You will grow careers, shape the technology roadmap, steward tool investments, and drive delivery from concept through production, including championing AI-assisted development and emerging

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
7+ years IT experience with leadership experience.
Strong vendor management and budgeting skills.
Ability to translate technology trends into business solutions.
Experience partnering with IT and business leaders on roadmaps.
Cloud/SaaS implementation or support knowledge preferred.
Experience in energy or utility industries preferred.

Build and lead the team behind the software the business runs on
Partner with operations, engineering, and commercial leaders to turn business problems into software solutions
Set standards for team design, delivery, and support practices
Grow careers and shape the technology roadmap
Steward investments in tools, vendors, and talent
Set team goals, provide resources and training, and deliver performance feedback
Establish feasibility, approach, and architecture for solutions
Drive delivery from concept through production
Champion AI-assisted development and agentic tooling
Evaluate, pilot, and scale emerging technologies
Translate operational challenges into practical technical solutions
Serve as the primary technical contact for supported portfolios
Own departmental expenditures, capital investments, and contractor spend
Manage vendor and partner relationships
Improve engineering and support processes
Provide input on technical standards, architecture, and budget constraints
Advise on priorities and technical problem-solving across IT
Communicate technical work, delivery progress, and investment decisions to senior leadership
Report to the Director of IT Operations & Maintenance Solutions

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in IT
Minimum of two (2) years in a formal or informal leadership role
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Safety as the utmost priority
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
Exemplary vendor management skills
Strong knowledge of technology trends and ability to translate trends into effective business applications
Experience partnering with leaders across IT and business to deliver a technology roadmap
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities
Preferred: Knowledge in implementation or support of cloud/SaaS applications
Preferred: Experience in the energy or utility industries
Preferred: Understanding of current and future state strategies for automation technology
