Job summary

In this role you will mentor engineers, guide RESTful services in Python and Java, oversee data platforms with Oracle, PostgreSQL and DynamoDB, and advance modernization, CI/CD, and secure-by-design practices across US/India distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items.
• Hands-on engineering leader with direct reports combining people leadership with delivery accountability.

Responsibilities

• Hire, onboard, coach, and develop engineers; provide performance feedback; build growth plans.
• Remain hands-on while leading—drive system design, code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and mentor through pairing and design sessions.
• Own architecture and operational excellence across a platform/portfolio for finance solutions.
• Lead design and implementation of RESTful services and microservices using Python and Java, with durable patterns and testability.
• Guide frontend development (React) and ensure clean API contracts, strong UX, and secure-by-design implementations.
• Drive data platform leadership with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB; scalable access patterns.
• Drive modernization initiatives (legacy automation, upgrades, migrations) for better control and traceability.
• Improve CI/CD, release discipline, observability, and incident response readiness across the team.
• Partner with Finance, Product, Operations, and Technology to shape roadmaps and communicate status and risk.
• Lead across distributed teams (US/India) ensuring standards and delivery cadence.
