BCT LLC is seeking a Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems, including analytics and real-time processing. The role involves requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and leading project activities. Some telework may be approved on a case-by-case basis, with CI Poly less than five years old.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline with eight+ years of software development experience.
• Strong design, analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and software documentation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive design and performance specs.
• Design and code new software or modify existing modules for features.
• Debug and fix defects in existing software.
• Integrate software into new or modified environments.
• Improve documentation and software development standards.
• Develop or implement algorithms to meet performance targets.
• Help create and execute software test plans.
• Write or review system documentation.
• Serve as team lead appropriate to project methodology.
• Modify software for new hardware or improved performance.
• Design or implement complex algorithms under timing/resource constraints.
• Collaborate with systems and hardware engineers on requirements and interfaces.
• Create user stories and define acceptance criteria.
• Understand software configuration management and CI/CD practices.
• Gain knowledge of database concepts and query languages.
• Scripting in Bash, Python, etc.
• Understand software testing methodologies.
