Job summary

BCT LLC is hiring a Software Engineer 2 to join our System Test Team in Maryland. The role requires an active TS/SCI with POLY (CI Poly < 5 years) and no telework. You will test HPC systems, develop automated tests, and analyze results, using Linux, Python, and scripting; collaborate across teams to ensure requirements are met.

Responsibilities include SAFe participation, API testing for hardware, and defect tracking. A BS in CS and 8+ years of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Design, develop, and implement testing scripts and strategies, including automated test execution and data analysis.
• Review HPC system documentation, interpret requirements, and develop code to test and validate those requirements.
• Collaborate with team to develop and execute test plans for HPC systems.
• Independently test and validate HPC systems per test plans to ensure requirements.
• Participate in SAFe ceremonies (planning, daily standups, demos, retrospectives).
• Use Linux CLI and scripting languages (Python, Bash) to troubleshoot hardware, run tests, and automate processes.
• Develop complex database queries and analyze test data across databases (Splunk, etc).
• Track, document, and report software defects using JIRA/Confluence or similar tools.
• Contribute to integration and testing of Rest APIs related to hardware systems.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure system verification standards are met.

About The Job

BCT LLC is seeking a Software Engineer 2 to join our System Test Team. The ideal candidate must possess an active TS/SCI with POLY, note the CI Poly must be less than five years old. No telework is authorized for this position.

Required Experience

• Design, develop, and implement testing scripts and strategies, to include automated test execution and data analysis.
• Review HPC system documentation, interpret system requirements, and develop code to test and validate that those requirements are being met
• Collaborate with team members to develop and execute test plans for HPC systerms
• Independently test and validate and validate HPC systems in accordance with test plans to ensure that system requirements are met
• Participate in all SAFe activities including, but not limited to, planning meetings, daily stand up meetings, demos, and retrospectives.
• Utilize Linux Command-Line interface and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash) to troubleshoot hardware, execute tests and automate testing processes.
• Develop complex database queries and analyze test data across various database platforms (Splunk, etc)
• Track, document, and report SW defects using defect tracking systems (JIRA, Confluence or similar tools).
• Contribute to the integration and testing of Rest APIs related to hardware systems.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze system requirements and ensure that system verification standards are met.

Required Education

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years or more of experience in software development is required. An additional four (4) years of software development experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Salary Range

$180,000 - $235,000

The above salary range is a general guideline; however, BCT-LLC considers several factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
