Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance and a current polygraph to support national security programs in Maryland. You will analyze requirements, design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, and improve system reliability.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, lead small development efforts, implement Terraform infrastructure, AWS security practices, and CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to documentation and process improvements while ensuring timely

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph.
• 14 years’ SWE experience in programs of similar scope and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering, Management, or related discipline.
• Four years of additional software engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with JIRA & GitLab for development workflows, issue tracking, and version control.
• Proficient in coordinating Agile/Scrum teams to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user and system requirements to inform software design, performance expectations, and technical feasibility.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and enhance existing systems.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align software solutions with system architecture.
• Develop and optimize data queries and database interactions.
• Contribute to system integration across environments; implement scalable solutions.
• Support testing by developing and executing test procedures.
• Create, review, and maintain technical documentation; suggest improvements to processes.
• Lead small development efforts; coordinate activities for timely, compliant delivery.
