Job summary

DRW in Chicago specializes in quantitative trading technology and software-driven strategies. The Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain trading applications as part of an algorithmic trading team, contributing across the full tech stack from hardware to devops.

You will work with seasoned technologists, researchers and traders, driving performance, reliability and innovation within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience developing high-availability server-side systems, preferably in C++ or Rust.
• 3+ years of experience using modern C++ (20/23/26) or Rust.
• Background in multi-threaded programming and strong understanding of hardware/software interaction.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, with knowledge of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems and concurrency.

Responsibilities

• Perform full life cycle development of applications and libraries for exchange gateways, trading strategy execution, risk management, trade reporting and market data feed processing using C++ or Rust.
• Develop and maintain systems to ensure performance, integrity and reliability for maximal up-time, with logging and traceability for production systems.
• Collaborate with quantitative researchers and traders on strategy development.
• Design, develop, and deploy software using agile methodologies.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pairing.
