Job summary

Ameriprise is seeking an experienced software development leader in the Boston area to guide design, development, testing, and deployment of applications. You will mentor a team, enforce SDLC standards, and drive architecture decisions while coordinating with business units and QA.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding oversight, code reviews, and producing maintainable documentation, with a focus on reliability, performance, and security across systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience required.
• 7+ years of experience coding and/or designing in multiple progra

Responsibilities

• Execute and oversee the creation of low level design documents (including code samples/outlines) and detailed engineering specifications based on complex business, user, and non-functional requirements.
• Write code that adheres to standards, procedures, and techniques. Maintain integrity of existing program logic according to specifications.
• Plan and lead the development process with business and project teams; participate in design walk-throughs and plan interfaces between interrelated applications.
• Lead the code review process to ensure adherence to standards and specifications; create and archive project documentation.
• Ensure code is unit tested prior to QA; assist QA in test data and scenarios; approve code for production.
• Provide oversight, mentorship, and technical leadership to a development team; govern adherence to development strategy and standards.
• Conduct asset health and security assessment; identify enhancements and track security gaps to remediation.
