Job summary

Liberty University is seeking a Software Developer IV to lead the Student Information Services (SIS) team within IT Development, guiding design, development, and maintenance of the SIS platform and related products to deliver scalable, secure, high-quality solutions.

You will mentor engineers, set architectural standards, own technical risk management, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to advance Liberty's multi-year student systems roadmap, including IDM and core SIS capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
• 8+ years of experience in software development with architecture/design pattern expertise.
• Experience leading teams and driving technology adoption.
• Proficient in software architecture principles, including microservices/SOA.
• Strong coding, testing, and performance optimization skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of Liberty's SIS and related product suite.
• Collaborate with Tech Leads, Project Managers, and stakeholders to align priorities and ensure timely delivery.
• Serve as the primary technical authority for the team, overseeing architecture, code quality, testing, and security.
