Job summary

Liberty University is seeking a Software Developer IV to lead the Student Information Services (SIS) team within IT Development. You will guide the design, development, and delivery of the SIS and related product suite, setting technical direction and ensuring alignment with university goals.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural governance, and champion modern development practices while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development and architecture design.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Expertise in software architecture and design patterns, including microservices and SOA.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of Liberty’s SIS and related product suite.
• Collaborate with tech leads, PMs, and stakeholders to set technical direction and priorities.
• Own architectural governance, testing standards, and development best practices for the team.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve team effectiveness and product quality.
• Mentor team members and partner with leadership to shape engineering culture and capacity.
