Job summary

Elevance Health seeks a software developer to join our Indianapolis team. You will participate in development and maintenance across a business unit, collaborating with engineers and designers to define scope and specifications.

Responsibilities include coding and maintaining complex components, mentoring peers on standards, system testing, and coordinating with IT for successful delivery. On-call support and 8-5 EST hours are included.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field with at least 3 years experience on one platform or equivalent background.
• Experience with multiple BI tools, multi-database, multi-language, or multi-business applications preferred.
• Experience leading people and small projects and providing troubleshooting support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in all phases of development and maintenance life cycle for an assigned unit or program.
• Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements.
• Collaborates with engineers and designers to analyze change requests and review enhancements.
• Develops and defines application scope and objectives; prepares functional/technical specifications.
• Codes and maintains complex components of information systems; mentors others on coding standards.
• Develops system testing, fixes defects, and re-executes unit tests to validate results.
• Aids in integrating activities with other IT departments and provides on-call support.
