Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, distributed systems, algorithms, design.
• Production systems at scale with load testing and tracing experience.
• Experience with on-call rotations and end-to-end release ownership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to author specs and runbooks.
• Experience with modern web frameworks and API development (Phoenix, Ruby on Rails, Fast API, Laravel, Node).
• 2+ years designing and evolving GraphQL schemas for multi-client surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design, scale, and tune GraphQL APIs, low-latency gRPC services, and SQL queries powering the promotions engine.
• Own high-scope technical problems; draft proposals for leadership and partner teams.
• Architect and deliver new features end-to-end in an agile/scrum environment.
• Identify bottlenecks and risks; drive scalability improvements.
• Set up monitoring and alerting in DataDog for owned systems.
• Mentor engineers across teams; contribute to specs, pairing, and code reviews.
• Other duties as required.
