Job summary

Penn Interactive is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, scale, and optimize GraphQL APIs and low-latency services for our promotions engine. You will own complex production challenges, propose architectural improvements, and deliver features end-to-end in an agile team.

Qualifications include 5+ years in software engineering, strong CS fundamentals, and hands-on experience with GraphQL schemas, Kubernetes, and production monitoring.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software engineering across production systems.
• Strong CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms and design.
• Experience with GraphQL schemas and multi-client platforms.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized services.
• Experience with performance tuning and tracing in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, scale, and tune GraphQL APIs, gRPC services, and SQL queries for promotions engine.
• Own high-impact technical problems and propose solutions to leadership.
• Architect and deliver features end-to-end in an Agile environment.
• Identify bottlenecks and drive platform scalability improvements.
• Set up monitoring/alerting in DataDog; mentor engineers across teams.
