Job summary

AppFolio is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a 6-person cross-functional team focused on enhancing the accounting module of AppFolio Property Manager. You’ll onboard to the stack, align on problems, and collaborate with developers and cross-functional peers to deliver on AI-driven enhancements.

You will drive scalable web solutions, own end-to-end SDLC, and contribute to a culture of agile practices, pair programming, and continuous delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer
• Hands-on experience developing web-based applications, preferably in a SaaS environment
• Ability to drive impact autonomously and own your work through the full SDLC
• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails and experience with Ruby, Java, Go, or Python
• Experience with AI-driven development and integrating LLMs into production workflows
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners across product and design to drive technical solutions

• Develop scalable, robust, and simple web-based solutions for customers
• Formulate, implement, and evaluate algorithms and database queries for SaaS scalability
• Implement new features and optimize for maximum scalability, stability, and performance
• Use TDD, code reviews, CI to deliver high-quality software and fix bugs quickly
• Collaborate with engineering, product, design and customers for feedback
• Leverage agile practices to release small batches of value continuously
