Job summary

AppFolio is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a cross-functional team focused on enhancing the accounting module of AppFolio Property Manager. You will onboard quickly to our stack, align your team on the problem, and work with engineers, product and design to deliver scalable web solutions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in full-stack SaaS development, experience with Ruby on Rails or similar languages, and exposure to AI-driven features.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or related discipline.
5+ years as a full-stack software engineer in SaaS.
Experience with web-based applications and full SDLC ownership.
Knowledge of Ruby on Rails and at least one language like Ruby, Java, Go, or Python; exposure to AI-driven development and LLMs.

Responsibilities

Develop scalable, robust web-based solutions for a SaaS platform.
Formulate, optimize, and evaluate database queries to support growth.
Implement features and improve performance and stability.
Participate in code reviews, TDD, CI/CD and agile processes.
Collaborate with product, design, and customers to inform solutions.
